■ 강연자 소개

Dr. Yan Wang is an Associate Professor in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florida, where she founded and directs the Urban Agility and Resilience Laboratory and serves as a founding faculty member of the Florida Institute for Built Environment Resilience (FIBER). Her research uses big data, computation, and AI to understand and strengthen how cities and communities withstand, recover from, and adapt to disruptions, from natural hazards and climate stress to emerging technologies. Those findings generate insights and tools that serve planners, engineers, and public health researchers. 

Her scholarship advances three interconnected areas: theory-guided AI models and spatial planning tools for post-disaster regeneration and climate adaptation; community resilience measurement through behavioral data and spatial analysis; and AI-powered systems for real-time disaster sensing and equitable risk communication. 

Dr. Wang has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in venues including JAMA Network Open, Nature Scientific Data, Engineering, and the Journal of the American Planning Association, supported by more than $3.3 million in research funding from NSF, NIH, and the National Academies. She is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2025), recognized as an AI Pioneer (2025), and holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
